Our "Primary Delivery Corridor" starts in Downtown Chattanooga. From there it runs northward through the Northshore, Riverview, and Red Bank, then heads up to and through the Town of Signal Mountain. Our Primary Delivery Corridor ends in the Town of Walden and some of the adjacent unincorporated neighborhoods.
FREE-DELIVERY JOB SIZE
That amount (see list above) is minimum total of charges for sharpening/repair services that will qualify for for free pickup/delivery in our Primary Delivery Corridor.
OUTSIDE PRIMARY DELIVERY ZONE
We can arrange a meeting time or pickup and deliver to other areas (outside our primary delivery zone) for a delivery charge based on distance and and job size. If your sharpening and repair job is substantial, we may include free pickup/delivery to some other areas. Contact us for an estimate.
CO-OP / GROUP APPOINTMENTS
Do you have friends and neighbors who would like arrange a group appointment or make a "co-op" sharpening event? You arrange the participants, tell us about the types and amount of sharpening/repair, and let's set the terms, time, and place!
BASIC KNIFE SHARPENING
STARTING AT $7
We will put a razor-sharp edge on dull, but undamaged, blades of all styles (plain/fine edge, serrated, double sided, recurve, etc.).
We sharpen all types of knives, including kitchen and dining cutlery, pocket knives, hunting blades, bushcraft or survival knives, daggers, or machetes/swords. (For multi-blade, double-edged, or other knives with more than one sharpened surface, each such blade/edge is charged separately.)

SERRATIONS
We can sharpen most serrations. Serrated edges are billed the same as standard fine edge (non-serrated knife). Serrations do require different sharpening tools than the fine edge, so if a single knife has a portion with a fine edge and a portion with a serrated edge, we sharpen each portion like it is a different blade and we we bill for each portion as a separate edge of the length of that portion.
MULTIPLE/SPLIT EDGES
For any blade with two distinct edges (typically with an apex between them), each edge is billed as a separate edge. Examples: 9" chef knife is $13, but a 9" double-sided dagger would be $26 ($13+$13). A 9" hunter is $13, but a 9" utility/camp knife split into 5.5" of fine edge and 3.5" of serrations would be $16 ($9+$7).

LENTICULAR, FULL-FLAT, AND OTHER SPECIALIZED/COMPLEX EDGES
Some swords, industrial blades, or other specialized knives utilize a lenticular profile, a full-flat bevel with no secondary sharpening bevel, or other edge in which the blade profile extends all the way to the cutting apex. Those edge types require the sharpener to remove metal over a much larger area of the blade, requiring significantly more time to complete with greater wear on our stones, plates, and other abrasives. Sharpening lenticular, full-flat-to-apex, and other specialized or complex edges will require at least a 50%-100% surcharge over standard sharpening methods and geometries. For price estimates, please call, email, or schedule a time for us to inspect your blade.
PRE-SHARPENING CORRECTIONS/REPAIRS
If we receive blades with common or comparatively minor damage (see below), then we will perform those moderate repairs or corrections at the beginning of the pre-sharpening process and add a small fee for the additional work involved.
$5
Straighten bent knife tip
Breakage is an inherent risk when straightening a bent knife or tip. We will not charge for straightening if the tip breaks, but will instead reshape the tip and charge accordingly. PLEASE NOTIFY US if you do not want us to attempt straightening and thus risk breakage.
$5
$5-10
Establish new primary bevel or remove minor nicks/chips
We use 17.5 degrees for most knives if a new primary bevel is needed, but we may adjust the angle as appropriate based on knife type and intended use. Please notify us beforehand if you want a specific grind angle.
$5-10
$5
Reshape broken point/tip
Where a knife is missing the the very point or tip (or it breaks off while attempting to straighten a bent tip), we will reshape the tip of the knife to restore a functional point/tip.
$5
$5-10
Reprofile edge / Lower bolster
Where prior sharpenings left a swale in the blade, caused the bolster to a protrude, or created an unintended or dysfunctional edge profile, we will grind down the bolster, remove swales, and/or reprofile the edge to enable proper functionality.
$5-10
MAJOR REPAIRS
We can perform many other more substantial repair and service for knives with significant damage. Due to variability of such damage, the work required to correct it, and the knives themselves, we cannot specify a standard charge for such non-standard work. Please call us to discuss before pickup/delivery. Examples of non-standard work we perform:
